Calculator f fat8/26/2023 Males should have a minimum of 5% body fat, and women 13%, to ensure the body is functioning properly. In the IIFYM community, there is a worrying trend to reduce body fat to an extremely low percentage so that the skin is void of fat and muscle striation is visible this is very unhealthy and unsustainable. Having some body fat is not only desirable for good health, it is actually essential, and in having too low a level of body fat this can also pose a risk to health. Is there such thing as having too little body fat? Abdominal fat can, however, be easily reduced through healthy diet and regular exercise. Substances released by body fat, including free fatty acids, enter the portal vein and travel to the liver, where they can impede its function. Excess abdominal fat is also dangerous because it is closely located to the portal vein, which carries blood from the intestinal area to the liver. Some of the most common health problems are seen in people who are overweight or obese, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2diabetes.Įxcess fat carried around the abdomen (abdominal fat) is directly linked with higher total cholesterol and LDL (‘bad’) cholesterol, which has the potential to clog arteries, leading to a heart attack or stroke. Why is having excess body fat a bad thing?Įxcess body fat introduces the risk of generating serious health issues. Excess body fatīody fat in excess of essential and reserve body fat, which can lead to serious health problems such as heart disease and diabetes. Reserve body fatĪdditional fat that presents no risk to health but rather provides a store of fuel for the body to use when needed. Needed to protect the body from diseases and physically protect organs from bruising damage. There are three different types of body fat: Essential body fat Its primary function is to store lipids from food, which the body can then use to create energy adipose tissue is also required to secrete a number of essential hormones. The scientific name for body fat is ‘adipose tissue’. There is a common misconception that all body fat is bad but in fact, fat serves a number of important functions in the body. Best use of breath of orbis8/26/2023 It offers vessels a direct route between the North Atlantic and northern Indian oceans via the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea, avoiding the South Atlantic and southern Indian oceans and reducing the journey distance from the Arabian Sea to London by approximately 8,900 kilometres (5,500 mi), to 10 days at 20 knots (37 km/h 23 mph) or 8 days at 24 knots (44 km/h 28 mph). The canal officially opened on 17 November 1869. Construction of the canal lasted from 1859 to 1869. In 1858, Ferdinand de Lesseps formed the Suez Canal Company for the express purpose of building the canal. The 193.30 km (120.11 mi) long canal is a popular trade route between Europe and Asia. The Suez Canal ( Egyptian Arabic: قَنَاةُ ٱلسُّوَيْسِ, Qanāt es-Suwais) is an artificial sea-level waterway in Egypt, connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea through the Isthmus of Suez and dividing Africa and Asia. Last, this paper argues that Christian pneumatology needs to engage with the natural sciences more specifically on the issue of human uniqueness, and offers some ways forward for doing so.The Great Bitter Lake at the centre (after the 2015 expansion)ģ0☄2′18″N 32☂0′39″E / 30.70500°N 32.34417☎ / 30.70500 32.34417 Here, I observe that, for all the disagreement and variety, these proposals all envisage a universal and indiscriminate divine presence. Third, this paper examines recent attempts to incorporate pneumatology (the study of Holy Spirit) into science-religion dialogue. Second, this paper shows the underappreciated historical importance of pneumatology and the concept of participation in theological anthropology. First, this paper outlines and takes seriously the empirical and methodological challenges that dialogue with the natural sciences has brought to bear on this claim. Christian theology traditionally claims that humans are unique because they alone are made in the image of God, although interpretations of this phrase vary widely. This paper argues that human uniqueness, as articulated through the imago Dei, needs to be grounded in a particular view of the Holy Spirit’s presence to humanity if it is going to be successful maintained as a Christian doctrine. Part One deals with the status questionis in theology of religions, Part Two discusses three tradition-specific approaches, and Part Three brings together meta-reflections on the similarities and differences between these three cases. Our dissertation consists of seven chapters in three parts. What makes this interesting for our research question, is that all three authors must defend how their position does justice to their theological and ecclesial tradition. In a simplistic conservative-liberal analysis, we could say that D’Costa has moved to a more conservative position than the mainstream of his tradition, whilst McDermott and Yong take positions that are considered to be more liberal within Evangelicalism. All three of them have legitimation issues with respect to the majority opinion amongst theologians in their tradition, although we are aware that theological legitimation takes on a different form in Roman Catholicism than in Evangelicalism. In the course of this dissertation the Roman Catholic approach of Gavin D’Costa is studied and compared with that of two Evangelical theologians (Gerald McDermott and Amos Yong). We further want to show what a tradition-specific approach means in terms of the use of sources and authorities from one’s tradition, its major theological themes and its dialogical implications. The goal of our dissertation is, first of all, to answer the question whether a tradition-specific approach to theology of religions can issue in a coherent theology of interreligious dialogue.

Dog obese8/26/2023 A number of health problems can develop, some of which are untreatable and can lead to death. When the liver doesn’t work properly, the liver will not be able to purify the body and get rid of toxins. When a dog (or human for that matter) is obese, all of the organs and systems in the body must work much harder, including the liver. Just like in humans, diabetes can be difficult to treat in dogs and can lead to other diseases that may be fatal. The extra work can lead to congestive heart failure, which can be fatal if left untreated.ĭiabetes has become a major health problem in dogs many experts say the growing rate of obesity is linked to the increasing number of dogs with diabetes. This is because the heart must work overtime to pump blood throughout the body. High blood pressure can be fatal for dogs. That means your dog may not be getting the oxygen he or she needs to stay healthy. Extra fat on the dog’s chest makes it harder for the dog’s lungs to work properly. Overweight dogs are at risk for developing breathing problems like shortness of breath and sleep apnea. Here are seven of the most serious dangers of obesity in dogs. Lack of stamina, intolerance to hot temperatures and increased risk of surgical complications are concerns affecting all overweight dogs, but there are other serious conditions that dog owners should be aware of. Owners need to understand that letting your dog become obese can shorten your dog’s lifespan and increase the risk of serious health problems. Some people think chubby dogs are cute and don’t realize the serious implications of excess weight for dogs. Small dogs especially can develop respiratory and heart problems from excess weight. Obesity is especially a problem for small and toy breeds because they don’t have as high energy needs as larger dogs. Hypothyroidism, insulinoma and hyperadrenocorticism are other common causes. Unhealthy eating habits – like feeding your dog high-calorie foods and frequent treats (especially table scraps and “people food”) can also cause your dog to become overweight. Obesity is more common in old age because it is natural for the dog to not be able to exercise as much. The most common cause is over feeding and not ensuring your dog receives enough exercise. There are several reasons dogs gain too much weight. Behavioral problems related to food or your own feeding behavior may also impact your dog’s weight. Female dogs are at higher risk of gaining weight spayed or neutered dogs have an even higher chance of becoming obese. The breed, genetic makeup, age, gender, lifestyle and your dog’s diet all contribute to the likelihood your dog will become overweight.Ĭanine obesity is common in dogs of all ages but tends to occur in middle age (5 – 7 years old in most breeds). If your dog is between 15 – 20 percent (or more) over his or her ideal weight, or you can’t feel your dog’s ribs through his skin, fur and body tissue, he or she is considered obese. If your dog is obese, he or she will have a higher risk of chronic and life-long conditions. According to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, over 55 percent of dogs are obese. Obesity is a growing problem for people in our society, and unfortunately, it’s the same for our pets.

Asymmetric carbon atom8/26/2023 An asymmetric carbon is often a chiral stereogenic center, since interchanging any two substituent groups converts one enantiomer to the other. Stereogenic elements may be chiral or achiral. A stereogenic element is a center, axis or plane that is a focus of stereoisomerism, such that an interchange of two groups attached to this feature leads to a stereoisomer. This aspect of stereoisomerism will be treated later.Ī useful first step in examining structural formulas to determine whether stereoisomers may exist is to identify all stereogenic elements. When more than one chiral center is present in a molecular structure, care must be taken to analyze their relationship before concluding that a specific molecular configuration is chiral or achiral. Most of the chiral centers we shall discuss are asymmetric carbon atoms, but it should be recognized that other tetrahedral or pyramidal atoms may become chiral centers if appropriately substituted. The presence of a single asymmetrically substituted carbon atom in a molecule is sufficient to render the whole configuration chiral, and modern terminology refers to such groupings as chiral centers. Consequently, we find that these compounds exist as pairs of enantiomers. The structural formulas of lactic acid and carvone are drawn on the right with the asymmetric carbon colored red. In the general figure below, A and B are nonsuperposable mirror images of one another, and thus are a pair of enantiomers. This type of configurational stereoisomerism is termed enantiomorphism, and the non-identical, mirror-image pair of stereoisomers that result are called enantiomers. The configuration of such a molecular unit is chiral, and the structure may exist in either a right-handed configuration or a left-handed configuration (one the mirror image of the other). A regular tetrahedron several planes of symmetry and is achiral.Ī carbon atom that is bonded to four different atoms or groups loses all symmetry, and is often referred to as an asymmetric carbon. If all four substituent groups are the same, as in methane or tetrachloromethane, the configuration is that of a highly symmetric "regular tetrahedron". Tetravalent carbons have a tetrahedral configuration. The results of mechanistic studies, including the isolation of a chiral heteronickelacycle, support that the enantioselectivity on the two contiguous carbon atoms of the γ-lactams is determined during the oxidative cyclization on nickel(0).\)Ī consideration of the chirality of molecular configurations explains the curious stereoisomerism observed for lactic acid, carvone and a multitude of other organic compounds. A key of the procedure presented here is a nickel(0)/chiral phosphoramidite-catalyzed asymmetric carbonylative cycloaddition between readily accessible ene-imines and carbon monoxide, which proceeded enantioselectively to furnish up to 90% ee (>99% ee after recrystallization). Moreover, we have achieved the first enantioselective synthesis of strigolactam derivative GR-24, a racemic variant of which is a potential seed germination stimulator and plant-growth regulator. Herein, we report a strategy to construct polycyclic γ-lactam derivatives that contain more than two contiguous stereogenic centers in an enantioselective as well as atom-economic manner. The development of straightforward and reliable synthetic routes to such chiral structural motifs in a stereocontrolled manner should thus be of importance. Γ-Lactam derivatives with multiple contiguous stereogenic carbon centers are ubiquitous in physiologically active compounds.

Wedo lego projects8/26/2023 Yes, sorting bricks according to their color (yellow, orange, blue, red, green, purple, black&white) is fast. Understandable as it is, we simply must talk about the colors in SPIKE Essential, because of… the sorting trays. Of course, when discussing favorite colors, there is no accounting for taste. Subjectively, the colors in the new kit are a bit hodgepodge. We examine them all: colors, bricks, and electronics. They all influence the building process, not always in a positive way. Not only in terms of colors, or electronics, but also when it comes to individual bricks, or building systems incorporated into one product. That’s a big plus! Especially since this kit contains a lot of small elements, which tend to get lost, and rubber bands, ruthlessly tested and stretched by young learners.Įlements of SPIKE Essential are visibly different from the usual selection in LEGO Education products. In addition to the elements from the list, the box contains spare parts. Just put the stickers on and open the brick packets into the tray bricks come already sorted! Preparing one kit should take around 5 minutes. ProTip: If you want to unpack the kits with students, SPIKE Essential makes it easy. Like all the previous products from LEGO Education, bricks are all neatly packed in a plastic box and sorted, thanks to two color-coded sorting trays. Everything comes in a plastic box in size identical to SPIKE Prime. Comparison of SPIKE Essential and WeDo 2.0įirst, let’s unpack.Pick the aspect that interests you the most. Is it perhaps a jack of all trades and a master of…? Before we judge it too harshly, let’s take a look at the important features of this kit in the context of school education with focus on robotics and coding. Unlike previous series from LEGO Education, intended mainly for learning robotics and programming, SPIKE is a “cross-curricular STEAM solution”. However, SPIKE Essential is not a straightforward replacement for WeDo, it’s something else entirely. In practice, this means that the electronics, bricks and even programming are compatible with SPIKE™ Prime – great! It is an important part of the official LEGO Learning System, which claims to be “a scalable learning system based on the familiar LEGO® brick”. SPIKE Essential is supposed to fill the educational void in early primary school. Spare parts are still available, for now. The Core Set is retired and the reserves are completely sold out in many countries. The old and proven WeDo 2.0 is now out of the picture. In this review, we examine every aspect of SPIKE Essential to understand why. The new educational robotics kit has arrived, but its welcome is saturated with mixed feelings. Out with the old, in with the new! SPIKE™ Essential by LEGO® Education is a recently launched set of bricks and electronics for kids in primary school education. |
