Edison arduino kit8/27/2023 Arduino I/O Pins- All of the Arduinos I/O pins are broken out to a pair of headers (plus a couple in between). These function much like an Arduino Shield. Each Intel® Edison PWM can be jumpered to one of three Arduino PWMs. Expansion Header- The 70-pin Expansion header breaks out the functionality of the Intel Edison. This header also passes signals and power throughout the stack. PWM (J11-J12): The PWM headers, also called PWM swizzler, allow the four PWM sources from the Intel® Edison to be configured to drive four of the six Arduino PWM pins. Make sure the battery is attached with the correct polarity.Ħ. BATT (J2): The BATT header allows attaching a Li-Ion battery for those low power applications. ICSP (J4): The ICSP header has the same functionality as the ICSP header found it in the Arduino UNO boards.ĥ. The Intel Edison compute module is meant to be used with a breakout board and is typically bought together with a kit containing the compute. The jumper is no needed to enable this feature.Ĥ. To enable this feature tie a 10K thermistor from the NTC pin to GND. EdScratch Easy drag-and-drop programming with powerful functionality and versatility, EdScratch is a robust platform for computer science education. This feature can be disabled connecting the NTC pin to GND which is the default position of the NTC jumper as showed in the picture above. Here are all of the kits we are building new workshops for Linux-based Micro-Processor Kits. The Intel Edison is an ultra small computing platform that will change the way you look at embedded electronics. NTC (J13): The NTC header allows setting an NTC thermistor input used to monitor battery temperature while charging. The default ADC voltage reference selected is the IOREF value as showed in the picture above.ģ. When the AREF value is selected, it can be chosen from a voltage range from 0V to 2.5V if the IOREF is 3.3V or from 0V to 5V if the IOREF is 5V. By comparison an Arduino Uno has 16MHz CPU, 32KB Flash Memory and 2KB Sram. When the IOREF value is selected, it can be 3.3V or 5V depending on the IOREF jumper position. The Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Intel Edison are good for starting beginner. The reference can be selected between the IOREF value and an external value on the AREF pin. AREF (J8): The AREF header allows selecting the ADC voltage reference. The Edison will come from the factory with Yocto Linux pre-installed. Simply push the compute module into the connector and screw it down using the provided nuts. The default IOREF value selected is 5V as showed in the picture above.Ģ. Attaching the Edison to the Arduino Kit is extremely easy. IOREF (J9): The IOREF header allows selecting between two voltage levels: 5V or 3.3V, to make the IO pins compatible with the level selected. This decade, our mission is to create and extend computing technology to connect and enrich the lives of every person on earth.1. Founded in 1968 to build semiconductor memory products, Intel introduced the world's first microprocessor in 1971. Intel, the world leader in silicon innovation, develops technologies, products and initiatives to continually advance how people work and live. This kit includes an Arduino Breakout, which essentially gives your Edison the ability to interface with Arduino shields or any board with the Arduino.
